A Unique one

She's my cousin
A very smart gurl, used to be a decent gurl...

She's born with more 'western thinking' family.
She's english speaking, outgoing..

Her mother, however, is a very chinese tradition lady who sacrified her well paid job just to take care of the 3 daughters' education and stuffs.
She's a 伟大 mother, but however, a irritating aunty to me.

Back to my childhood, the only cousin who can challenge my status of 'genius' in my family. (大家给面jeh..lolx)
She's the one after me who scored in PTS.
Thereafter, my relatives always compare her with me, compare her mom and my mom, her dad and my dad..
Which I hate the most.
Thus, to upheld my family's 名声 among the relatives, my family's practise is always 报喜不报忧.
My parents would act loving even they jz quarrelled in front of the relatives, while me, I jz nid to make sure Im not a trouble maker in school and keep my result the best among the family, so that those uncle aunty can continue use me, tis innocent child, to be model to their children. (this is sickening)

She's a nerd to me, while I think I'm the same to her.
Despite the fact that we're seeing each other every year (CNY), the conversations that we shared can be counted by fingers in a single hand.
Reason being, she's english speaking while i'm chinese speaking.
Not that I dont speak eng nor she dont speak chinese, its just, no sparks.
Her siblings only talk/play with another english speaking family..
That's d problem in a living in a BIG family.

Eversince my grandparents passed away, I din meet any of them.
Till the CNY of 2010, my 38 cousin, aky updated me about the relatives and cousins.
So she has got excellent scores in spm, but i heard that she has changed.
She's no longer the decent gurl that I 'know' like before.
She became like her sista, outgoing, mix with indians, smoke, drink,..
I saw bikini pool party pics of her and the frens, guys and gurls..
sexy dressings, daring posing, its just so 'wow wow wow' to me when i saw those pics.
The BIG family is a tradision 1, none of my uncle/aunty would accept it, i think even my cousin.
I guess the mom must be speechless and disappointed by a daughter who gets 7A's to study business admin while another daughter who gets 11A's to study Mass Comm..
Im not saying both are not good. (I knw most of u shud knw wat I mean)

Well, I admire their 敢做敢当and 勇于争取自己想要的未来的性格
But I feel pity for the mom who have to face 被看不起的眼神and gossips but its all started from her.
自作孽,不可饶

Through her blog, I can see my dear cousin was hving bad memories during her high school life.
I dont know wat happened to her, but I can feel the bitterness in her life.
I belief her parents' thinking would be the same like mine, I can und wat kinda feelings she had when she has faced all those.
我欣赏她的勇敢,
敢说,敢做,敢当~
Proud to have such a cousin

I used to be like most of the people, thinking education are the best for a child
Most of the parents/senior focus more on their child/junior's study than what's exactly they are having in their mind
I'm not saying that education is not important, but when you're forcing the child to study hard, have you ever think that whether the child like it or not.
You might think a piano class, swimming class, math class, drawing class, tennis class bla bla bla, helps in child's development, children MIGHT HAVE enjoy it, but what about their happiness?
You are, happy when the child success, but when the child is stress, over stress, where are you? what can you do?
Children's success is part of your effort and part of their effort, but children's happiness is fruit of your efforts.
Dont ignore children's happiness, you'll spoil one's future

true that edu might be important, bt it doesn't mean hav to push the child to the limit.
Hapiness is alot more important than achivement =)

Yeah..
Reli kinda 'heart pain' seeing my cousin became some1 like dat..
She's smart gurl, but went to "maybe seems to be wrong" de path..
She's playful, hot, but from her blog I can see she's lonely..
